The father of Bea was Brian was a veterinarian for horses who committed suicide at three-years-old. She did not learn the cause of her death until 13 years later. As a way to honor her dad, she adopted the stage-name Bea and, in the year 2017, she wrote an article on suicides in the family she was raised by for The Guardian. Bea was raised alongside her older sister Sinead by Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary teacher, jockey trainer, as well as a former professional racer.
